No Thought Workout

I needed to do a track workout this morning/week but if I had tried the effort on my schedule, it would have been awful. The decision was made to get my legs back under me around town and run some strides on the Norman High track. I felt that I needed to put a little pace on the legs without the worry of hitting splits.

I wanted to put in about 5 or 6 miles before starting on the track. The run took me from Brookhaven to the old stomping grounds on Main St. as I had to check up on the early morning buzz. There wasn't a lot going on so I hit up the track just as the footballers were arriving.

The workout started with a mile of jogging the turns and sprinting the straights. I ran 5:27 for the mile and then jogged an easy lap before running 200 on/off for a mile. I hit splits of: 30.49 (51.20), 30.75 (52.17), 30.53 (51.95), 29.50 (52.89) for 5:29 total. I followed this up with an easy lap before doing another mile of jogging the turns, sprinting the straights and hit 5:21. The total amount of time on the track was 20:01 for 3.50 miles.

I had a long jog back to Brookhaven before work. The body felt somewhat adjusted to being back in Norman.
