Two Mexicans, a German and an American Walk into a Bar

Time: 75:36
Distance: 12.00 miles
Pace: 6:17
Map

I had a great run this morning with Simon (the German), Edgar (the Mexican) and Devin out at McAlpine. The team broke up pretty early on the crushed gravel and the four of us fell into a nice group. We were all schedule to run about 12 miles on the day and just figured it would be convenient to lash it out together. At one point Devin and I were feeding Simon lines from Kindergarten Cop. Simon say, "I'm a cop. You idiot!" or "It's not a tumor." Great stuff. We explained that despite the Austrian/German differences the accent worked perfectly with those classic lines.

The pace got moving a few different times especially as we ascended the hill. We made sure to plantar flex on the way up and had some fun racing to the bottom. The effort really heated up the last two miles as we were finishing up. It's nice being able to run with people as you can relax and push during times when the pace would slow.

Splits: 7:31, 6:57, 6:42, 6:30, 6:16, 6:14, 6:11, 6:20, 6:07, 6:07, 5:25, 5:15.
